Most companies don't have huge budgets to start with, but there are some inexpensive brand awareness tips and strategies you can employ:

➡️ 1. Ask your customers for a case study.

When you're a startup consider incentivising this at contract/renewal stage.

➡️ 2. Run a customer/NPS survey.

Ask your customers why they like you (such useful learnings to be had and great info for social media), share the insights and ask for a review, ➡️3.

➡️3. Set up the key review platforms used by your potential buyers.

Actively target your best customers with review requests on the main peer review sites. Monitor these regularly so you have good representation across the industry sectors you work in and thank the customers for their review. If you’re a software business, you'll want to be on Capterra/GetApp/Software Advice and G2.

➡️4. Post consistently on social media.

Prioritise one key platform and post regularly. In-feed posts do best and ask your key people to share insights and valuable content regularly.

Think about ways to inform, educate and entertain. Tell stories about how the company came about and the milestones achieved along the way. Think about what you want to become known for and create content that you can post on your key channels consistently.

➡️ 5. Create useful shareable content.

Conduct market research and provide these insights in a useful report. Design an infographic that people will find useful. Develop a framework for making working life easier. Share in all manner of ways, in different media and formats; social media, newsletter, podcast, Youtube videos etc.

➡️ 6. Give your time and share your expertise.

Get involved in your local community. Share helpful tips in online communities. Seek out opportunities to speak at events. Once you get known for speaking about certain topics, the opportunities to do other speaking gigs will roll in.

➡️ 7. Enter relevant business awards.

Really go all out and take time over your award submissions. The value of being awarded 'Best XXXX' in your field is not to be underestimated.

➡️ 8. Collaborate with an expert who has a complementary business/service to yours, share learnings/advice and produce a joint report / free webinar.

➡️ 9. Offer to write an article for a publication.

Many publications struggle to write enough quality content at times. Offer to write an article based on one of your clients' businesses (with their permission of course). We've successfully had published articles sharing how the client transformed their business, how we were able to help them overcome some of the challenges. These tend to be very powerful if they focus on the learnings, warts and all.

➡️ 10. If you've got a little budget - boost your best LinkedIn posts.

New client wins and product launches can be inexpensive and worthwhile to boost on LinkedIn and will broaden your reach hugely.
